Helianthus annuus
This blend is the result of years of sunflowers growing on our farm. There is some variability in colour as sunflowers easily cross pollinate and this is an open pollinated mix. They are predominantly clear bright yellow with dark black centers. Multi-branching with numerous flower heads, they are 6-8 feet in height and beloved by both birds and bees.
Growing Information
7-14 days to germinate. 80 days to maturity.
Can be direct seeded when the soil has warmed but will benefit from starting early in pots in a sheltered location. Can be transplanted easily and less susceptible to attacks from slugs when done this way. Plant in full sun.
