Lupin
Lupinus polyphyllus
The Large-leaved Lupine is a vibrant and iconic plant found across Prince Edward Island. Commonly seen in fields and ditches, it signals the arrival of summer. This perennial grows up to 4 feet tall, with large stalks full of pea-like blooms. The flowers come in a range of colors, including deep purple, violet, pink and white, occasionally featuring combinations of colours. Known for attracting pollinators, this plant adds beauty to any landscape. It does not transplant easily due to its deep tap root, so choose your planting site carefully.
